Yeah, I'd need it if I were to do that! Thanks, glad you liked. Actually I
am going to add pseudo-people in just like the current two guys there on stage
and at the podium(?). They're only cylinders with a gradient y pigment to do
the pants, shirt, face and hair. I might need a bit more sophistication than
that.

Some of them could have little oscillating arms holding up cigarette
lighters or candles, waving them around (or holding them still I suppose),
that wouldn't be to tricky.

looks good, there is a trick to making things look big

you have it viewed from the air, say in a helechopper doodah

place the camera about the height of a real persons eyes, and look up :)

i think the only reason it doesn't look big is the lack of detail.
doors, chairs, light fixtures, a diva on stage in front of a mic, nearby
trees, hills, or whatever. things to give it a sense of scale. i
thought the camera flashes were fine by the way.

All good points. And btw, yes, poorly done "people" put in there just to check what
scale of
things I should be trying. I haven't done a bit of research on amphitheaters, not
even looked at a
picture. Bad technique, huh...

Looks nice Bob.
Your podium is on the wrong side of the conductor though. A conductor
keeps the score in front of him/herself on the podium for reference,
and faces the orchestra.

Just more of my picky music comments :)

The orchestra pit is the brown area though, audience is the blue area, stage and steps
are gray.
Conductor is on the stage side of the podium facing out toward the orchestra (if ever
one exists).
However, I never looked at a real amphitheater photo or anything so this is all just
my twisted
logic on what it might be like. I should surf the web or encyclopedia, things like
this aren't
conducive to fantasy after all :-)

The orchestra faces the audience, otherwise those trumpets etc. wont
be heard by the audience because the sound is travelling in the wrong
direction. The orchestra "pit" is right in front of the stage; actually
the pit at the Wang Theater in Boston is partially *under* the stage
(gives new meaning to "pit").

Yeah, I was thinking of having all the sound bounce off the half-dome structure
making for a pretty bad echo probably. I was going more for symmetry of looks
not sound. Maybe I could move it into the back of the stage? Well I think I
need to find a great photo of something similar at least too, then I'd have
something to go by. I searched and searched and came up with either partially
constructed ones or pictures facing the wrong direction, none of which were of
this type I tried to make.
