Are we required to go back to 3.6, or is there a way to run 3.7beta for
prolonged time?

BETA_VERSION fix doesn't seem to work for me, on a fresh compiled b29 I get
"unknown error code" on every POV source I tried to run.

Thanks,
Marvin

I'll release fresh source with the next beta (which I'm working on now,
meant to have it done tonight, but it'll be another day or three). Source
will follow shortly thereafter.

Yes, but when will any beta for linux come out?.
I've been waiting for months and nothing moves. Windows builds come out (beta
30, beta 31, maybe even beta 32) but the linux ones remain as a promise and
only as a promise. You didn't release the source code so there's no chance for
us.
Any answer to this question is welcome.
Thank you in advance.

Are you implying there has never been *any* Linux beta or *any* source code
released?

No. Just keep reading my post. I think it's perfectly clear what I want to say.

You have the last Linux beta (with linux-specific files) and the current
.31 source. I don't see what's stopping you making a .31 linux build for
your own use from that; it's not rocket-science to drop the generic source
into the .29 linux code tree, and probably more productive than complaining
here.

As for why it's not done: the folks who do our Linux work seem to be
otherwise occupied.

You seem to be saying that you're upset that the VOLUNTEERS who build
this code haven't done so for Linux.

Well, dude, they volunteer their time to do this. People get busy.
Relax, it'll be here when it's here, and not a minute before then.

Don't forget that you're not paying for their time or efforts. The
software is provided gratis. Nobody *owes* you anything when it comes to
beta (or, for that matter, release) software.

I will grant that it would be nice to know, but it's not always possible
to predict people's work schedules. So chill and let people get the
stuff done.

Jim

Not o mention that there is an economic meltdown underway and some people
have other stuff to do, I suppose ;-)

Very true as well, unfortunately.

FYI the beta 31 source is now available for Linux.
