I am looking for a good computer graphics-oriented reference book that
provides descriptions, equations and examples for the curves, surfaces and
objects that are used by pov/megapov (Bezier, splines, patches, meshes,
isosurfaces, superellipsoids, etc). Is there a definitive "bible" that
everyone agrees is the best?
Also, if anyone can steer me toward web sites with good tutorials or links
to tutorials I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Cris Williams

There are several good resources on the net for this type of information.
Checkout the povray.org links pages in the 3d resources section.

The povray documentation mentions one book in the poly-object section:
"The CRC Handbook of Mathematical Curves and Surfaces"
David von Seggern
CRC Press, 1990

It's definitely not a "bible" and furthermore it's out of print (but the
library of your university may have it), and it covers only splines
and surface patches. However, I like this book:
Su Bu-Qing and Liu Ding-Yuan
Computational Geometry
Curve and Surface Modeling
Academic Press 1989
ISBN 0-12-675610-4
I hope this helps.
