Hi all,

if you applied to become a beta tester and have not received
instructions per email by now, you probably entered an incorrect email
address. Let us know under what email you applied and we'll make sure.

We are no longer taking beta test applications at this point, unless
you are a registered user.

Regards,

- Lutz

Woohoo, photons!

...no new camera types to play with.
...no isosurface goodness.
...no sphere_sweep goodness.

Actually the isosurfaces and new camera types I probably don't
need, but sphere_sweeps are a really neat thing.

Also...having no idea what it would involve...any way of allowing
use of variables/while loops from within moray? Not that I have
anything against building a separate ini file...actually, I do. :P
Having a separate ini file means you can't see what you're working
with and how it relates to the rest of your scene 'til you render
it (unless you plan things out on paper beforehand, and I don't do
that kinda thing).

Oh well, even just photons is nice. Keep up the good work!

Hey, wow! I can make my scenes take a billion times longer
to render just by adding photon settings! hee

I don't know why it is not in in Moray - perhaps it is there but you only
missed this - but note: current sphere_sweep implementation in POV-Ray is
buggy. It causes crashes and has wrongly defined bounding. Take a look at
posts http://news.povray.org/search/advanced/?s=sweep&g=povray.beta-test

I like what I see, but I can't seem to find any animation improvments. As I
recall, animation improvments were the number one issue in the survay. It
is the feature that I have been waiting, wishing, hoping for.

Will a new/better version of the animation plug-in be released? Will Moray
support animation in a native fashion?

Mike

Hi Mike, you recently wrote in moray.win:

> I like what I see, but I can't seem to find any animation improvments.
Yes, that is correct. Since animation is supported by Alexanders
plugin, we did not improve on that code.

> Will a new/better version of the animation plug-in be released?
I don't know, Xander would be the right person to ask that.

> Will Moray support animation in a native fashion?
No, not in the near future.
