Im having a few problems getting poser models to work correctly in moray. Im
exporting the models in 3ds format and then using 3dwin to convert them to
pov. This generates the moray scene and numerous .inc files. The scene opens
fine in moray, but when i try to render it everything appears the same shade
of white/grey.
Has anybody got a clue what im doing wrong?
tnx,
David

(If you're using the unregistered version) Only the reg ver converts
textures etc ; for the rest you need to make textures in Moray and
attach them to your objects.

Hope this helps,

Hello,

I created a program that converts Poser 4 object files into
POV-Ray/Moray
files. It can transfer most material properties.

It is for windows only.

I made this converter a few months back and I hosted it on Geocities
until
they decided to kill my page. I found a new server and the file is at

http://people.tamu.edu/~sfg2113/poserayinstall.zip

and if you want to read the manual before downloading the file it is
at

http://people.tamu.edu/~sfg2113/poserayhelp.htm

-------------

I don't use Poser, sorry (And, right now, not even Moray :). Though I
expect to be using it in a few months when the new version of 3dWin
comes out)

Regards,
-Anoop

I'd like to try your program, but when I go to the link you provided I get
this:

""An Error Occurred: Forbidden
The URL you requested was not available to this server.

This is probably intentional on the part of the page designer, but could
also be a permissions problem.

If you are a web designer that cannot access your own page, please verify
the following:

Execute permission on your HOME directory
Execute permission on your .public_html directory
Readability of your main index.html file or .public_html directory
(If it exists) Readability and correctness of your .htaccess file. ""

Strange. It was working a couple of weeks ago.

Hi,

Unfortunately it isn't my program: even if I would wish it was. That
was just a link I found while searching for some other message.
Perhaps you could try entering the keywords word 'poseray moray' or
poseray poser' in google.
good luck

Unfortunately that link is on a university web site and it is quite
common for universities to clear out former student accounts at
the beginning of a new school year. I suspect the author is no longer
attending that school and the resource is lost until he pops up
again with a new location, if ever.

I downloaded the program from that website and got the file in my HD
The file poserayinstall.zip is 268 Kb
I downloaded it on 5/24/2001
Since it was offered as freeware, I think I can send it by e-mail to
everyone
interested on it (if someone thinks this can't be done, please, tell me so).

A simple reply is enough.

Hi Gary,

Perhaps you could try these (you won't get poseray, I'm afraid, but
perhaps similar):
http://home.hiwaay.net/~ssloan/software
http://home.hiwaay.net/~ssloan/software/gp2pinst.exe

I don't use poser so really can't say how good it is. Sorry

Good Luck,
-Anoop

Well, Txemi Jendrix e-mailed me the program, but I think I'll try these too.

Thank you!

Gary
P.s. I don't use poser either, but there's a lot of poser files on the net
that I could use.
