Hi Everyone,
Some while ago a few people expressed an interest in Mikael Carneholm's
Smoke Gen include file, well I've finally got it working as a Moray
PlugIn.
As most of you know by now RTM :-) But just incase :-
1) Unzip the DLL file into Morays PlugIn dir
2) Unzip the NEW smokegen.zip INC files into the Povray Include dir (you
MUST do this as I've changed the smokegen.inc file)
3) Change the Moray.inc version parameter to 3.1 if necessary
Get it at the usual place......

Have a Great Christmas and New Year.
Best Regards,
Keith
PS I'm away from Xmas Day until 7th Jan '00

Keith,
Thanks for all your hard work on getting these plugins to work in Moray.
One thing I would like to mention is that I do not have a moray.inc file but
I did find the version in the moray.ini file to be 3, I changed that to 3.1
and it works fine.
:) Glen

Could you elaborate on this a bit?
I found my Moray.ini file, but no mention of a version number. I can't get the
smoke plugin to work.
Thanks!

Simon,
Open the Moray ini file in note pad and near the bottom you should find
version=3, see example below-
Subset_Start_Frame=-1
Test_Abort_Count=100
User_Abort_Command=
User_Abort_Return= I
Version=3
Video_Mode=0
Vista_Buffer=On
Warning_Console=On
Warning_File=
Bits_Per_Color=8
[END]
I then changed where it says Version=3 to Version=3.1 Then the plugin worked
fine. As always when working with such files make a backup of the Moray.ini
file and then make your change.
Hope this helps,
Glen

FWIW, I personally feel its better to just delete the line refering
to Version altogether. POV-Ray will default to its current version
if nothing is specified anyway, and this will save trouble should,
say, version 3.5 come out while you're still using the current
Moray. Also, there's side benefits, like if you want to output to
some unofficial compile, like MegaPOV, which uses a different
version number (3.14159, believe it or not <g>); Granted the
new (and unofficial) features are not accessible from the current
modeller version, but if you #include a handwritten file taking
advantage of newer capabilities or something, having Version=3.1
explicitly specified will cause problems all over again.
Just my two cents,
Charles
