There are two PSP games I have been searching for *months*, with no
success. I can't understand why they are so hard to find:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disgaea:_Hour_of_Darkness#Disgaea:_Afternoon_of_Darkness
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeanne_d'Arc_(video_game)

These games do not exist in Finland. I have checked every single physical
shop at travellable distance and every single online shop, and these games
do not exist here.

They do not exist at any nordic online shops either. They don't exist
at amazon.co.uk. They do exist at amazon.com, but they don't sell them
to Europe.

The latter doesn't exist at play.com. The former is available, but I'm
having technical difficulties with their website (my registratrion went ok,
but I'm unable to login, to make the website send me my password, or recreate
my account). I can't seem to get the game from there.

From numerous reviews I have read, those games are two of the best
available for the PSP. However, I can't get hold of them, and it's getting
really annoying.

Not only is it excruciatingly annoying, it's also inexplicable. I would
understand this if they were some obscure unknown games who nobody cares
about, but these are known games praised and critically acclaimed. Yet
nobody seems to be selling them.

Publishers.

Like movies, games are often not sold by the company who produced them
in the first place, but by companies specializing in marketing the
stuff. Those are also often specializing in a particular regional market.

So a publisher may decide to buy the (exclusive) publishing rights only
for a particular region he knows he can sell the product on. Or a game
developer may decide to sell him the publishing rights only for a
particular region, hoping to cut a better deal with some other publisher
for another region, or intending to have a localized version published
in that region instead.

Since PSP games are not region locked, you should be able to play the US
versions.
These seem to ship internationally:

No. I generally don't trust such websites. (Or to be more precise, I don't
have trust issues with the *website* itself, but with the people selling
things.)

I never had problems with my purchases, though I've not made a huge
amount of purchases, and some items (i.e. prepaid store gift cards) are
particularly prone to fraud. I *have* had repeated problems with my
local thrift stores (i.e. broken devices, missing parts, missing discs,
etc.). I even had a problem at my local GameStop (i.e. an employee
removed the disc from the box and then replaced the plastic seal).

At least within the US, I've found it highly reliable. I won't say that
I haven't had problems with it, but then I've had problems with "proper"
online vendors as well, and it wouldn't surprise me if the percentage of
problems is greater for the latter.

Of course, you do need to be somewhat eBay savvy (reading carefully
what is and is not included in the purchase, etc).

I've had mostly good results with it. I've purchased several movies and
games (the other day I bought JCVD, can't wait for it to ship :) ), and
a 1TB hdd that's worked flawlessly for more than a year.

On the other hand, I bought a Radeon graphics card that had suffered
from overheating. The thing works fine on the Windows desktop and light
games, but is very prone to resetting the computer when playing graphics
heavy games.

YMMV, of course :)
