Maybe I can help. A while ago I downloaded a Blender model* of a Nixie
Tube to recreate a digital clock I made, back in the mists of time.
(Nixie Tubes and TTL chips.)
With a little more work I could create a PovRay include file for you to
use. I should mention that it is a mesh and much larger than the Pov
code that Robert would use.

* It was created by BlenderB under the Creative Commons license. So
credit must be given.

Sorry, I meant give credit (recognition) to the person that made the
original model by quoting his name.

You are in the right place here, then. :-)
We will go out of our way to help for no cost at all, at all. ;-)

I think we have a misunderstanding here. Something may be lost in translation.
In case of a CC (Creative Commons)-licence, credit means to mention the original
author you derived your work from usually, if you will publish your work. There
are several CC-licences (e.g.
CC Zero means that you must not even give the name of the original artist). But
you have not to pay money, you must only name the people who have "helped" you
by providing you with models you use. BTW, where are you from?

Best regards,
Michael

I forgot to mention that I posted an image of it in
Povray.binaries.images. On this newsgroup. It would need a bit more
work, I think.

Most likely one has to convert it into a pov-macro which illuminates the desired
number with a media. I cannot estimate the effort needed for that, but I assume
it is not trivial.

For some reason I'm occupied with modelling the Mevagissey lighthouse at the
Moment ...

Best regards,
Michael

The model I have is a Mesh so macros would be difficult. If Andrew wants
to use it, I would need to separate the "unlit numbers to allow this. I
don't think that this would be a big problem.
Robert's code would certainly be smaller. If need be I could always
contact him through TC-RTC as the "Contact the Artist" functionality
does not work.

How nice, I look forward to seeing it. Why pick that one to model?

Simply because I spent my actual holydays some 200 m away from it. The image I
plan is more a study in reflections, since under certain light conditions the
lighthouse (and the quay) reflects in the glass of our balcony railing. Will
see, if I can modell this with POV.

Best regards,
Michael

That seems a good reason. :-)

Did you go to the "Lost Gardens of Heligan"?
I went there over 10 years ago and have promised myself to go back next
time we are in the West County.
BTW for quality of light St Ives is a place not to be missed. There is a
Tate Gallery there and Barbara Hepworth's house. Which is now a museum.
