Never mind I figured out why I am seeing it differently that you are.
You have the page set up for a 1024x768 screen resolution. I usually
use 640x480 which really messes up the page layout when the resolution
is explicitly declared.

Not everybody has a website, and it would be nice to have descriptions of
several people at the same place I think.

But The List of Ages already has that information. No need to dublicate that
work.

I personally think a linking system between webpages would be better because
there's already other pages that contain information about the POV'ers.

That's my point exactly. I knew about that website, and there's other
websites which also contains information about POV-Ray users. No need to
dublicate other's work. But maybe we could make a linking system that in a
smart way linked between the different websites.

I personally would like to make a website myself with short descriptions
(brief biographical info) of the different POV-Ray users. As far as I know
such a website has not been made already. The users could make their own
descroptions, or others could make them for them, but of course the
descriptions would always have to be certified by the person in concern.

The advantage of not having this as a part of the photo album is, that
people can submit the brief biographical info even if they haven't submitted
a photo.

So I think a linking system would be better. What do you think?

Greetings,

Rune

Have a look at the 'Who We Are' page at irtc.org It's a list of the people
active
on the irtc mailing lists with some info on them.

I submitted a pov-rendered self-portrait and grasshoppa objected.

or

I was forced instead into to offer a picture of me wearing a self-designed
T-shirt, featuring a horribly unphotorealistic image composed in-gasp-Bryce!

An excellent idea. Do you know of a way that when someone selects a link on
the photo album page the correct bio would be displayed on your page? Do you
want to cross-link the pages so someone can follow a link on your page to a
picture on my page? Just let me know how you set it up and I'll make links
according to your specs... (Just keep in mind that I only know BASIC html,
so if you want anything really fancy, you'll have to send me the html
source!)

Regards,
Dave

I really hate to say this, and I was hoping to not ever
let on, but in a series of system crashes, hd errors,
and reinstalls of Windows, I think that I have lost all
data for the List Of Ages. There is what is still at my
web site, but the other stuff has fallen off the web and
into the bit bucket. There might be some hope of an old
copy on one of the many zip disks around my desk, but please
don't hold your breath. I would hate to be implicated in
the police report of your death. I can see it now..."died

I don't recall how complete they are but I have a couple of copies
of the list in one of my netscape folders I could send you. I might
even have an .xls version around here somewhere but no gaurantees.
I think Alan may also have a copy of the .xls version but don't know
for sure.

I've got the ages.xls dated 12/24/99 here. Also the namelist.inc dated 2/6/00
(I might have changed it somehow) and namelist.pov, namelisthf.pov, both dated
1/2/00.
They could be sent anytime if no one has more recent files.

I hope the loss was not too big and that you will be able to recreate it. It
was a very nice and helpful list I think.

Too late! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Oh, wait a minute, that just my desktop wallpaper (tunnel.jpg)!

It wasn't posted to off-topic anytime after 3/7 when I started keeping my
