Greetings Pov People,
I don't have time to update my web site and there are 100's of new
links in my bookmark file. As an aid to you I have decided to post
the whole bookmark file on the server here. You will find it in the
subject group: povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions
Sorry if there are still broken or outdated links but I just don't
have time to update them all right now.
Enjoy and use them wisely,

Question :
When I posted the bookmark file I attached it as an html file. When I
view the message as posted using Netscape I see the bookmarks inline with
the message and each of the entries appear as active clickable links.
How does it appear to you when you view the message. Do some of you
have to download the file to see it, are they active links when you
view them, what other problems or observations do you have concening
me sharing my collection with you in this manner. I would like to see
them usable by as many people as possible and need to know what format
will achieve that goal.
Your feed back would be appreciated.

In MSIE 5.0, Win98, the page is fully HTML. Links appear properly -in blue-
along with the message. Explorer also brings an attachment -the same page-.

Please ignore my previous message. I can't seem to read a simple

They showed up as clickable links in Netscape Communicator 4.08.

Outlook Express: When I downloaded the most recent messages from the group,
the attachment was downloaded automatically, but I was given the choice of
saving the bookmark file to disk or opening it immediately using my web
browser (Netscape). The only attachments that are automatically displayed
by Outlook Express are attached images.

Agent: it shows up as a netscape icon which I have to launch to see.
slrn: it shows up as pure HTML code, which I have to save to disk and
manually launch netscape to see.
Keep in mind that a lot of our Unix friends are likely to be using
rn, trn, slrn or the like to read news, so the fact that I use slrn
is not as odd as it may seem.

What other options do I have for distributing it to the widest number of
platforms and what then is the best format to post links of this kind ?

Bear in mind that when I post these in html format it keeps intact all
of my bookmark descriptions that took a considerable amount of time to add
to each link. If I were to simply copy and past the links as plain text
I would lose these valuable link discriptions. I type too slow and do
not really feel inspired to type in 500+ new descriptions thank you.
P.S. Atlantic City is indeed in N.J. but from where I live it seems
close to Atlanta Ga. :)

Indeed it is. I chose to save and use it in a slightly different way,
however. I saved it as a page which I access when I open Composer.
That way, I can add my own comments to the links. The links work as
they're designed when I preview the page.
I don't know if anyone else has said this yet, but *thank you* for
taking the time to share your bookmarks. I've used them a lot, and they
sure save time and effort.
