You find it strange that other people find it strange that you start a very
unprofessional survey about *very* private matters (you ask about "religion"
and "IQ" man!) ???
Why don't you ask for their credit card numbers too, just to see which card
POVers prefer? Or their e-mail addresses (you could even sell those...).

(Actually it is kind of interesting how it seems acceptable to ask people
about their IQ and religion, but that asking for a credit-card number or
e-mail address would be considered rude :-)

Johannes.

BTW: Don't you think that the question for the IQ is redundant? I mean,
everybody who seriously answers this review kind of defines his IQ without
even answering to that question! ;c) (now there *I* couldn't resist...)

Yeah, my score was much higher than I expected (even though I got a good
one on the Israeli Phsycometric exam)

You're all being a little hard on TonyB I think. Who's to say what
should be asked in a survey (albeit, I have to agree, it's unusual).
Lance Birch asked for ages and that is usually taboo though most
everyone didn't hesitate to fill his out.
Someone asked me about adding racial demographics to my POV World Map. I
politely turned down the suggestion since that would essentially mean
everyone would need to resubmit the form. I was curious about this
aspect long ago myself while going to AOL chats, yet I never thought it
prudent to ask and I seldom think of it enough to have tried including
the question in my web page form for the map. Heck, it took me a while
to decide on the IMP member distinction (none visible even now), and was
kind of cornered on that one when another similar map was known to
exist.
I live in an area that's pretty mixed culture-wise or whatever you might
call it and there's plenty of chance POV-Ray users might be also. Guess
we'll never know.
Funny thing is I got the feeling Tony was kind of asking this sort of
thing indirectly with the eye and hair color thing, wouldn't come close
to the right answer through assumptions such as this.
Anyway, call me ridiculous for defending this "new survey" a little, but
hey, I have an IQ of 143 according to that test. I couldn't be too
ridiculous, now could I ?:)

Right (you can usually spot the left-handers, they ask this question a
lot)

Hamburgers

English (some German and Spanish, though now forgotten)

Southern Baptist (not really, but I should say something besides
Aethiest)

No (only visits by wandering cats and dogs and various wildlife)

Dark brown (and 25% gray)

Hazel-brown

143 (okay, according to that web page IQ test anyway. I'd guess more
like 120, if I'm lucky)

Maybe people should have taken a closer look at this paragraph. You can
tell you strike a chord immediately if your after such personal
information, most everyone seems to have been blinded by the questions
and not read the above.

I'd like to voice my opinion on this one...

First, I refuse to participate in such a personal and irrelevant survey.
What does this have to do with POV-Ray anyway?

Who do you think you are asking questions about someone's
religion/country/language? Don't you think some people would be a little
offended by such personal questions being posed? (and letting someone
choose what they want to answer surely can be of no statistical use anyway)

>I know some of these are rather personal questions, respond only to
>those you feel comfortable with. Your answers will, of course, remain

Confidential, and yet posted? That's a paradox if ever I heard one... kinda
like saying, "after you submit, your information will be encrypted with a
public key"

I suggest that you look back at my survey for a little direction, and while
I don't mean to sound like some kind of expert on this kind of stuff, I do
think that you'll find the subject matter of the survey I ran a little more
closely tied to POV-Ray.

I also suggest that if you want to run a survey about something not tied (or
pseudo-tied) to POV-Ray, then you should place it on a separate website,
rather than on this server (like I have done with my "POV Survey", "MAX
Survey", "Fun Survey" and "3D/2D Graphics IQ Test").

And about the IQ Test, I don't think that website is very accurate... or if
it is, I'm a 16-year-old genius (take your pick).

The test is definitely flawed and inaccurate. While flattering
it is by no means even close to reality. Sorry Lance you are still
"just" a 16 year old boy er I mean young man.

Quick ! Render it while the image is still freash in your mind.
Raytracing images of books burning. Now there's making a statement
with a lasting impression.
