I'm a newbie trying to get through the #*&% documentation.
Is there a table of the command-line switches, their meanings, and how to set
them
in windows mode?
E.g. I can't get the height-field example in section 4.4.3 to work.
I copy the image.pov code, and get the error: "Cannot open 'Bytes : .pov'".
The example calls for switches +A0.1 +FT.
The doc doesn't seem to explain what these mean, nor how to set them without
going
to DOS mode to run POVRay from the command line.

p.s. How does one interpret that error msg?
Is it looking for a file named Bytes.pov?

The docs have it, <HELP>, <POV-RAY DOCUMENTATION> <SEARCH> "Options
Reference"
Switches is something else entirely.

In your setting file (ex: RES640.INI) you edit in whatever switches you
like.

I ran into that error a while back. I think it's actually a bug in pov for
windows. You need to save your code to a file before rendering. Usually,
pov tells you that, but sometimes it freaks out and gives your that error
message you listed below. Just save your code in test.pov or something
similar and it should work.

Hi,
>I copy the image.pov code, and get the error: "Cannot open 'Bytes : .pov'".
I have gotten this error a few times: when I save my pov file I sometimes
forget to write a file extension, and apparently pov for windows doesn't
automatically assign one, thus the file ends up extension-less, and pov
doesn't like that and give me this error message.
