We're probably talking about different things, then. This was back
then when LC630 was a hit. The window I am talking about was about 6 x
1.5 inches, white, with a black border, and with a '>' prompt that
didn't seem to accept any commands (just cleared the line upon
pressing Enter). I sure trued 'Help' first :)

I'm either blind or dumb. Wait a minute... maybe I'm both :(

Ehm- look very closely at my original reply and at the quoted part in JRG's
reply.

Ah, that is indeed a kind of debugger as well. It is in every Mac ROM and
comes up if no other low-level debugger is installed. There is some
(unofficial?) documentation somewhere for it as well and I used to know how
to get out of it, if I could just remember...

I think you can get out of it by typing "g" and hitting <enter>

That's what I hate about Easter eggs - once I find them, I suddenly
feel oh so dumb. As I felt when I finally found this one :)

To tell you the truth, I still don't see how JRG's hint helped you but
anyway... it's cool :) Now I'm going to try if it works under Wine.

MegaPOV has post-processes that can output depth or normal data, and
there have been several depth buffer output patches...I know I wrote
one, and there were others.
