I just wanted to post this picture to say: I love UberPovs stochastic
anti-aliasing !
I was using the Robot-Heaven-Logo from Futurama an gave it to my old Roboy here.

Not really OT... I would say this belongs in p.b.i.

That said, it's fantastic. I wish my renders looked half as good.

Thanx. It's growing process you can follow here:
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/thread/%3Cweb.4aee868aaed4cc17da6353d60%40news.povray.org%3E/?ttop=362357
&toff=450

I thinking about to share the files of it, but I lost some data: It comes with
11 different levels of detail, and No. 6 is missing. Funny thing: I found it
somewhere already but didn't had the time to care about and I was really busy
that day. So now it's still kinda missing, but at least I know it's out there
somewhere...

For everybody, who likes to model some technical equipment, I strongly
recommend, to use a regular CAD-Program, an use A LOT of fillets! (THERE IS NOT
A SINGLE corner on the robot, everything is round.) I was using Rhino, back
these days. Today, FreeCAD should by the program of choice for technical
modeling, if you like to have a free ware-programm. (Rhino is not free)

So, I had a look for level6 and found it. Problem: After I had everything
together, I would have had to upload 750MB of Data!
So I decided to use level1 and level10 only. After compressing, now it's 57MB.

Does anybody know a good place to share the files?

Holger
Ps.: Picture of the actual scene.

If all you want is cloud storage, dropbox or copy. I'd invite you if I had your
email, and you could start out with 2.5Gb of space. Or you could get an email
account with gmx and you get 2Gb of free cloud storage with it.

www.gmx.com

Copy gives you 15Gb to start, or 20 if you have a referral.

Man! This gmx-shit is driving me crazy! now I've done an account and after only
two times of wrong log-ins (pasting wrong stuff into fields first and my browser
did it again by remember it in the first way) now I can't use it anymore, until
I have to fill out a contact-form.
If we all like to access this, it's gona end up catastrophically!

copy.com is running in the background since two hours now, with no response...

Any other suggestions?

Looks like I can share it only to people, registered to copy.com :C

How ever for them who like to download it already:
Log in as: "ray### [at] byomde"
Password: "uberpov"

I know there are some services available, you upload stuff and EVERYBODY can
download it, when heaving the specific link. Thats actually, what I'm looking
for.

To the scene file: Parsing the geometries (specially the level10) can take quite
a while. The script is designed to load it in only ONCE! You can play around
with the scene, render it, and it wound parse all the files again, until you
changing the level of detail again.

Have fun!
Holger Karsten
