Bloopin' f*ck! Thank God it's Sunday, so I'm not at risk of jump up any
moment now and hurrying towards the next computer store to buy a brand
new high-end graphics card and this beast of a game.

Well, it remains to see how this bloke looks animated.

And what this looks like when viewed from more than one direction. 3D
games can do that, you know. It's easy to take a photograph that looks
fantastic from one 2D angle. It's another matter to make it look good
when viewed from an arbitrary direction...

then again, forget this ugly-looking mofo and take a look at the environments
and lighting effects:

unfortunately, it seems to be a tradition in Crysis to be a benchmark tool with
lovely visuals but a lack of substance. Some are reporting to have completed
the single-player game in about 6 hours...

that said, I really think the Uncanny Valley is a thing of the past. Games are
set to prove it rather than Hollywood, because actors rule the latter and
lifelike rendered humans are not likely to replace them anytime soon, only
cartoons...

Girl: uncanny.

I guess that ugly-looking mofo works so good because yes, he's an
ugly-looking mofo.

I'm afraid nerdy game artists know how to model ugly-looking mofos better than
hot babes... :p

It was going great, right until the last one and the polygon edges.

Meh, not enough AA on the grass.

Isn't that the way though? Back when computers were stuck with 16-colour
graphics and 3-channel analogue sound, you had to actually focus on
*gameplay* if you wanted to sell copies. Today... not so much.
