Crap ... my team is getting clobbered, and I've lost interest. I'm
switching over to Puppy Bowl X on animal planet :-(

You think you have problems. The Six Nations Rugby started on Saturday
and all three teams that I follow got beaten.
England (I'm English) - beaten (just) 26-24 by France
Scotland (My mother was a Scot) - slaughtered 28-6 by Ireland
Italy (Family connections) - beaten 23-15 by Wales
I just hope next weekend's matches look better. Though I do have one
problem - Scotland is playing England. Who do I support there?

yikes .. split loyalties. i recommend a pint (or two) and root for who
ever is winning ;-)

No, Sir. I have no loyalty. I have little interest in sport.
My mother was English and each of my grandparents was from a different
part of the Kingdom. (I am not 100% sure about Welsh but going from my
mother's "Afro hair" it may have been Cardiff, Swansea or another point
of the triangle.) O_o

Hmm. Interesting point. At the risk of starting another holy war, I
would be prepared to bet that we Brits are amongst the most racially
diverse nations on Earth (both individually and nationally). I
personally am a mix of several nations (English, Scottish, Dutch,
Hungarian, German and a distinct possibility of Indian if you go back to
the early 19th century)

It doesn't make sense that the rest of the UK doesn't get to vote on
this. OK so nobody probably cares that much with Scotland, but what if
next London decides to hold a vote to leave the UK? Shouldn't the rest
of us have a say?
