What! Are you coming over? Of course I would love to meet up.

I feel like a fish out of water. Today I was finding excuses not to go
to a race, next year, to do some User testing. Although there was talk
of going to Mercedes MGP to steal a few ideas. That I could live with.

Sadly, no - I thought you were saying that you were coming over here
during the London games.

Flights for us were really cheap during the 2002 games, and we were there
during the games here.

:)

Just started a new contract this week - and new products to learn (and an
old one to refresh my memory on). :)

Oh, no, for my part, I'm perfectly willing to let you have the gold on
this one. ;)

London cabbies are upset at the lane restrictions - apparently there are
lanes being reserved for athletes and other officials for the games, and
it's playing hell with the cabbies' ability to do their jobs.

There was a protest on Tower Bridge today from what I heard - with one
driver even diving off the bridge.

No, I was joking that I'd rather be in SLC during the London Olympics.

I hope that it is a long one. And learning keeps your mind active. (I
hope ;-) )

Yes I heard about it now that you mention it.
It is typical. The Tory bar stewards don't care how much inconvenience
they cause the working man if they can turn a profit.
Hell mend those who voted for Johnson. IMO, If you don't mind :-)

I see. Well, having done the reverse, I can tell you that it was a good
call on our part, even though they did get the traffic issues sorted out
so getting around town was reportedly not bad. But the office I was
based out of was a block from where they were doing the awards
ceremonies, so getting in there would've been a PITA regardless.

So far it's slated to go through Dec 31 - but who knows what that might
lead to.

I've got some ideas as to why the new product was on the list of things
to work with. It might have something to do with the fact that it's used
for managing the testing environment for the other product. :)

And keeping my mind active - yeah, today was like that. Spent time
working with a SAML 2.0 connector for Apache that hadn't been touched/
updated in years, and got it completely working about 10 minutes ago with
the current build of the software.

I *love* doing this kind of stuff, and the feeling of accomplishment that
comes with figuring something out.

That's what you (they) get for voting a New Yorker into the mayor's
office. Especially one whose hair, if trained by Donald Trump, would be
an improvement. ;)
