Ok, This is the last thing I am gonna upload for about a week. Sorry
about all
the updates but I have been able to expand the program alot faster than
I believed possible. This is an extension of my 2 other tga2avi
programs.
This one is Win95 only like series2avi but this actually has a status
bar and
will let you select a frame rate. Sorry about the constant updates but
the
program is actually useful now. Compression was the biggie. Check it out
and let me know what you would like to see it have. I am going to add
support for gif, png, and the other 2 tga formats, 16 and 32 bit. If there
are other
things that you can think of let me know.

I tried your digital series program and when I render an .ini file for my
animations it works fine. When I render a .pov file it hangs up on me. Am i
just supposed to render my ini file then use your digitalseries program. It
did do a great job converting it to avi though. I haven't been able to get
the animation program going though (up, down, in and out instead of just
rotating) but I will keep hacking away. Please excuse my lack of unknowing
for I am new to this. Thanks for your help.

Hello Tim,
I like your DigitalSeries. It's easier to handle as DTA. And it make AVI !!!
But I want to include sound to the animations. Do you have an idea what kind
of programs I need. Or did you plan to include something like this to your
DigitalSeries.

I will try to add sound over the next couple of days. Shouldn't be too hard but
this is the first time that I have messed with this stuff. Any other suggestions
from
anybody are welcome. I might as well add everything I can while I'm at it.

Everything you can . . . Good luck -- you will be doing this for a long, long time
:-) No, seriously, adding sound would be great. The best thing you could do is add
mpeg support, but I don't know how hard that is. What tools are you using? I can't
believe you made your program so compact -- both visual basic and visual c++ either
make the files giant, or make you tack on a meg. of libraries . . .

Actually I am using VC++ 5.0 for digitalseries. The reason that the binaries are
so small is that the dialogs are at a minimum and I use the libraries dynamically.
If you didn't have mfc42.dll and msvcrt?.dll on your system it wouldn't work
but pretty much everyone has them. I will be trying to add mpg and mov
support this weekend. Mpg is a little different because I have no API to use
do I have to go a bit deeper into the code. As long as my wife doesn't kill me
for being on the computer so much I should have all this in by monday.

look up for more links or whatever would be interesting - i.e. when we
miss a few sweeps on the NG so that we can be up to date on your progress

I am in the process of getting my DNS updated and the links for my POV
related stuff setup. Right now I just have an IP 207.224.162.253. I
should have the links to my progs up by tonight.

I tried you programm and it is the tool I was seraching for.
But... there is (as always) something missing.
We try to make videos from our animations an have a framgrabber card
which is able to produce videosignals from avi files.
But the card is only able to use
Motion JPEG (MJPG) or JPEG encoded avi files.
I don't know how much work it will be to include this format
or if it's even posible.
But I would appreciate if you could tell me if it's possible.
Thanks
Kai

Mayhaps you could program in a shell for AVI2MPG1 - it's a nifty freeware
Win '95 command-line program that creates superb MPEG's ... I posted it here
about an hour or so ago.
