Using colors from from:
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/attachment/%3Cweb.48063659dc4061a69c16cbf80%40news.povray.org%3E/pacific2
.jpg
as a target appearance, did some tweeking:

cloud norms
cloud brilliance to .6 (after learning 40=gone)
ocean color adjust
altitude adjust to match

I also determined that someone at around 3000 miles altitude with a 40 degree
lens took that picture.

This earth girl's atmo can't be seen very well in anaglyph so I posted her JPEGs
here: http://home.earthlink.net/~povraytrace/

Here's my version of "Where's Waldo":
Alien Landing Strip
Earth Girl
(in earth clouds of posted jpgs)

I should have written in previous post: "Try and find the moons in this image."
(because there's only one and its behind the planet, get it? oh nevermind)

Had to back up a day to catch the moon, what? You expect perfection *and* you
want it on time? Late again.

Poe shuffles off.

I was afraid the moon would ghost given size and distance:

#declare SatLabels = 10; // 0 or 1 = off/on

Heh, this is odd.

I just notice that to me this particular shot does have a 3D-ish "feel" to it
even though I'm *not* wearing anaglyph glasses (I don't even own any).

Maybe it has to do with me being considerably short-sighted, and wearing glasses
made of highly-refractive material, which also happens to exhibit significant
dispersion.

Now you mention it, I notice that as well, at least with the main planet
in the shot. I've got a very weak prescription for my glasses (the
doctor said I didn't really need them but it might help with some
headaches I was having - and it has - I'm nearsighted in one eye and
farsighted in the other).

Here's the money idea:
(for everyone wearing glasses and therefore hates anagylphs)

You know the transparent pasties you get on the screen of a new cell phone?
Well something like that. That will re-stick multiple times, one red and one
blue.

Ode to the Future

Clearly the clouds in my coffee/planet/tea foretell the future
They're coming to get us, ho ho, ha ha, he he
This vast hemoglobin feeding ground for sure
Reclaimed for the dark empire's greed

They haven't technology to save the moms
And defend against
The time and space distorting gravity bombs
Sadly as of yet

If they did, would reality remain intact
Only room for one dark overlord in fact

Here's the "Where's Waldo" image, actually Waldo and one of his clones. Can you
tell which one is the clone?
