Magnificent. I'd think it could be a CG movie set. The roughness of render
actually gives it some extra character.

Just curious...
In all of your Endless Palace WIPs, there is only one with a person
visible -- near the left-hand side of Palace2400x900.jpg
If you have one person, why not more?? If this isn't a person, what is it?
(The attached image is simply cropped out of your original...)

Ah yes! That was a nice touch indeed!

Ah, you found the lonely maid, left to clean the northern regions of the endless
palace while the rest moved to the warmer regions further south.
I sketched her in just for fun. She's not 3D. I don't have any human models.
I generally don't try adding 3D people--I find that most all 3D people fall
into that "uncanny valley."

This, of course, is the builder of the Endless Palace. Once finished, he noticed
a fatal flaw in his design: No exit for him to get out. Nor an entrance for
others to get in, for that matter. :P

Just keeps getting better. Just a few things:
When I last used radiosity with an animation, I did a quick pass with both
load_file and save_file on each frame to accumulate radiosity data. This got
rid of the flickering almost entirely. I'm not sure if this is proper
technique, but it worked anyway.
What about some hazy blue mountains in the background? I know it's a work in
progress, but it feels like it's floating in space without anything to frame
it.
The roofs look like they could use a little structure. The form is great, but
most of the roofs look like a single solid piece, which isn't really practical.
Like this, for example:
http://www.irtc.org/ftp/pub/stills/2002-08-31/golonls2.jpg
Don't worry. By the time someone is critiquing minutiae like this, you know
it's lookin' good.

Better and better. Where will it end? (no pun intended) :-)
