Looks great! A bit dark perhaps, especially on the top, but I guess
that's intended.

I haven't really adjusted the lighting from the default in the template file
but the dirty texture makes it look pretty dark, here is a cleaner one which
shows a bit more detail. I have not finished the model yet so the textures
are a bit rough.

Nice train wheel!

And "CGSphere entry" sounds like a CG Sphere contest.... what is it? Where
is it? How do I enter?

Sean,

I think this is looking really good for a CGSphere entry. I wouldn't worry too much
about the
rules, they're meant to be broken. ;-)

Are you planning to lay a length of track? I think it would be a good addition to the
final render.

Hehe.. I hadn't looked at it that way..

Funny you should mention that, I had some track and commented it out when I
was doing some test renders then forgot to un-comment it for the render I
posted doh!! If I decide to submit (which I am feeling more like doing now)
I will probably tweak a few things and definately put the rails back in..

Thanks,

Sean

OK, I have added the track now and re-rendered with different lighting to
brighten up the scene a bit, still not sure if I should add anything else
to this scene.. I think if I do submit it I will wait until I have at least
done a more genuine spherical entry..

This is impressive!
IMO, you should align the rivets of the tracks with the black background
lines for consistency with the topic.

That's a good idea, thanks Thomas. I was also wondering if I should change
the floor a bit, as I am breaking one rule I might as well break them all..
:o)

Why not? Go for it! :-)
We shall support you... (until *they* get too rough, of course)
