Hi to all of the POV community!

Im new here, but from what Ive seen this looks like a nice and very
educational forum!

I'm also quite new to Raytracing, but I am learning.
I want to post my present project The Dracula Castle, free for commenting
on!

The inspiration or guidelines comes from this picture:

wow, i get a great sense of scale which is nice, with one exception. The
steps going up to the tower look like they are each about three feet tall.

Mmm... Reminds me one of my favorite game.
Is Alucard inside ? ;-)
The stairway to the Dracula's lair is not really the same in my memory.
I'm sure you'll make it better... :-)

Ross and LightBeam, yeah you are both absolutely right about the stairs..
They were made today though, perhaps I mixed up Vampires with (gentle?)
Gigants or something.. ;)

And yeah, I guess some dude in there is going mental with his whip, hehe..
Maybe he should be blurred somewhere behind a window..

Nekomimi? Had to look it up.. although Im a fan of anime.. And.. Im still
confused! Could you elaborate, please? =)

I like it.

I'm definitely liking that sky. The castle itself looks like it needs 
some AA, but other than that... also very nice.

The mist looks perhaps slightly too bright, but I don't know. Would 
probably look nicer if it was slightly patchy (only slightly). That 
would probably low things down a lot though!

Well, Tim.. from what I saw in ur webpage, you have great skills in manga
style drawings.. Wow!

I think I'll skip the Nekomimi on this one, actually. The idea was to make
the still I found to look 3d... and I'll stick with that. If it is the mon
you refer to.. well.. I had one, but it kinda disappeared behind the
clouded sky.. :/

However the manga/anime style of drawing not only characters but also
buildingsand environment is very cool and appealing. Maybe something for an
upcoming project.. Although having seen Advent Children, I dont know if I
should feel thrilled or discouraged about even trying.. :)

Orchid, the lack of AA in the castle can partly be explained by the very few
blur_samples in this particular render.. I think..(?) Trying different
textures/patterns for the castle walls has been VERY tricky for me.. At
least I have now, much to late, finally declared the textures to make the
experimentation a bit easier.. =)

Agree about the mist, or fog, also.. should be better matched with the
pattern of the water/clouds.. But main focus right now is to get all the
parts of the building complex in place.

Nah, just mentioned the nekomimi 'cuz in the show they show up 
everywhere...and the castle looks like the one in the show...heh.
In other words, I was suggesting just putting *just* some nekomimi, not 
the figure, in somewhere, maybe on the moon...*grin*.

Well, Im glad I was introduced to the concept. :)
I will anyway have to make the moon visible.. perhaps with more ambient..
(?)
Tim(e) will tell if it comes out as nekomimi or not.. ;) It will anyway be
at least as oversized as the one on the 2d image.
