Here's another concept I came up with. I keep feeling like the POV logo
should somehow say POV-Ray when you look at it. Mine has a black P on top of
a white R. I put an arrow-like thing in the middle of the P to give it some
movement. I would like to add that although I feel the logo should spell it
out clearly, I am in now way opposed to someone coming up with some
cool-looking curve that one could slowly come to associate it to POV. I just
can't come up with any. :) Let me know what you think.

Also, I would like to take this occasion to ask *everybody* to participate
with enthusiasm. This might really be the first POV logo. We need the
support of everybody, both in conversing on the subject, as well as
submitting new designs for it. (I think Rune is dying for more input, please
help him!) Alright, enough out of me. Bye.

Hmm, I think it's a bit boring...
I liked your logo 11 much more. Would it be possible to change it so it said
"POV-Ray" instead of just "POV" ? I can't image how, but it would be nice if
it would, because "POV-Ray" is trademarked.

That's right!

Thank you for your enthusiasm TonyB! :-)

I'll see what I can do. I'll have next week off, so I'm going to take the
time to reinstall Windows, put together a new machine, and work on the logo,
OK?

No, it's corrupted or something, ImageMagic just opens it and shuts down
immediatly, and Electric Eye opens a picture of just black and grey lines.

That's strange. It works fine over here. And Rune was able to see it. Check
things on your system. That, or I could e-mail it to you as a GIF.

Looks nice, <ignore-me> but I though we had decided that fancy text wouldn't
cut it for the POV-logo... wait a second... Chris Colefax's logo is a form
of fancy text... hmm... </ignore-me>

I think fancy text is fine if it is fancy in a unique way. Using a fancy
font is not enough I think, but this logo is not just a fancy font. However,
there's still the problem that it would be better if a text logo said
"POV-Ray" instead of just "POV".

Am I the only one who sees a camera in the first logo? Very, very
nifty :)
