er, I think I misunderstood you. I thought you meant layering the
render output from Rhino with the render output from Pov. I've seen
lots of Rhino stuff rendered in Pov, so don't bother digging up links
to me.

Nothing is painted actually, except the motor for the winch and crane.
I'm not happy with the textures yet. It should be aluminum, rubbed
with a "rondel" as we call it. Pretty tough to texture because of the
irregularities and anisotropic reflectiveness.

For aluminum blurred reflection could look good, it looks too polished as
it is now and the strong sharp reflections distract from the actual
shapes.

IsoWood is nice, but I doubt the detail will be visible.

I'm _very_ anxious to use that as the scene already takes 24 hours at
decent resolution.. I agree on the reflections though. I've been
thinking about making a material_map texture for this purpose.
Attached is a pic of the real thing. Maybe someone has an idea how to
make this with a procedural texture?

I like the picture that combines a wireframe view with
a raytraced view. I wish I knew of a way to get POV-Ray (by
itself) to do that. Nice pic!

Thanks. Both the two first images are combined with wireframe renders.
On the first one, a "scetch" effect has been applied to the wireframe
render.
