For some reason I can't think of any more details to add... any ideas? I
made the legs thicker, plus the obvious changes. I'm also having trouble
getting the bottom of the cockpit to look the way I want it to...

Eight barrels = gattling? I can't remember...

Gattling guns are stupid, but FPS are never meant to be practical. ;) At any
rate the barrels look cool.

Reminds me of that gun with an array of barrels and explosive shells packed
end to end, where one firing sets off the next one and as one barrel is
firing the others are reloading. Shoots like 50k rps or something...

I remember seeing that, I read something about the distance between
bullets in flight being measured in inches, but I don't think they were
explosive...it was a rather small white box-shaped thing with a grid of
holes in front, the barrels were set off electrically and they operated
similarly to a roman candle...
I didn't read anything about reloading though...I thought it was a
use-once type of thing. Maybe they have improved it.

I thought it was only 5k rps...but I could easily be a 0 off. It was 5k
or more, I know that...

The array version fires 1 million rounds a minute. It can't be reloaded on
the fly, and yes they're packed end to end interlocking with each other, and
set of by electrical charges. It's an Australian invention, just a shame
that it's a weapon...

Anyway...

I like the look of the mech so far, I think the texturing will be the most
important phase in getting it to look like one of the mechs from the game,
which have that typical camouflage look about them, and a lot of matte
paint. They also have logos for the mech clans on them, maybe you should
make it a POV clan ;)

Lance.

I'm not big on mechs...but interested in real military equipment...

The bottom of the cockpit looks vulnerable with no real purpose. Now,
if there were some kind of weaponry mounted there...hhhmmm...

Hmm, maybe 5(or 50) thousand rounds per minute for an individual
barrel...or do they fire one barrel at a time?

The barrels fire simultaneously, so yeah, probably around what you said :)

Apparently the guy just woke up in the middle of the night with the idea,
and did a rough sketch of it... and then thought about it and decided to try
to get a working version made...

Now he's rather rich as I hear it... anyway this is getting off topic, sorry
:)

The mech looks good so far! *tries to get back on topic* Maybe some extra
bevelled panels on the sides would look good?

i think it would look more realistic with more facets on and near the
legs.
