Rafal what program are you using to post these attachments? This post
and your last post have appeared as pure UUencoded text for me. I've
used a separate decoder, UUdecode.exe, to uncompress your image and I've
attached it however it seems even then there are problems. When I tried
to decode your last post with UUdecode.exe it also came out with lots of
artifacts. Are you using a nonstandard UUencoding format?

He's using Xnews. His post looks fine in Outlook Express, but your reply
butchered his image.

Rafal, I remember there is a fix for this, but haven't recalled what it is,
yet. There are a million ways to approach the problem, though. Seems like it
was an hf_grey_16 use that cured it (in global settings), but I'm not sure.

hf_grey_16 is good for generating the hight field image, not for using
it. It enable you to have 65536 hight values instead of only 256.

Oh, my mistake then. I took it that he was generating a height_field. Of
course, I was always chastised for making height_field generation harder
than it should be.

It is a pov feature which allow you to render a grayscale image starting
from a procedural pigment.
see pov doc 6.11.4 (hint: a most important word in the 1st paragraph is
"other") :-)

I know the image in my reply looks awful but I clearly stated that this
was obviously not how Rafal's original image looked liked. For some
reason Thunderbird is unable to decode the post.

Probably because the uuencoded bit was part of the signature.
