The chance to find a HDR-image with the desired sun altitude, a clear
blue sky, some trees in the right position and a high enough resolution
so the reflections are not already completely washed out seemed quite
minimal to me.
On the other hand, it is all about high dynamic range and there is
actually no need to use a ready-made image for this purpose, just
appropriate values for 'emission' in the finish for the sky-sphere and
the sun-disk.

Actually I do not believe that the world is an infinite plane anymore, I
think it is a disc - but I'm still unsure what might happen when one
sails to the edge.

...and I did forget to mention another simple trick. Within the image
series for Vermeers atelier I did use his painting "View Of Delft" and
did cut out the painted houses and added a transparency map for them
within photoshop. These pictures of the houses are used as billboards in

simply use a photo of a local park shot last summer and again did make
the sky transparent.
This is useful for hiding any sharp transition from the ground-plane to
the sky-sphere which might look distracting within reflections.

You either hit an elephant or splat on the turtle. ;-)

Nope, you fall indefinitely unless the Lady has taken an interest
in you, in which case you get teleported back to somewhere above the
disk and go on falling from there...

Alternatively, you may be able to stick on the edge of the disk and,
maybe, get access to it's under side.

Or be picked up by a passing spaceship. (Strata)

Given the number of spaceships in the area, that would require a
once in a million chance ;) (of course, that is still better than in
the diskworld where the only “spaceship” was a diving bel
l whose
failure was the reason Rincewind was falling overboard in the first
place...)

Modulo Strata, of course.

Although there is a disc-shaped world in Strata, it is not *the*
Discworld. Hence the distinction I made.
