Thonak you, Sam. Your textured fog is doing a great deal towards success :-)

I found it interesting to note that the scene looks better with textured fog
*not* used for the figure's textures. They become washed out. So, one has to
experiment and select the best options. Which is OK of course. It's all the
fun.

I envy you for your skill in doing simple and yet effective scenes. I do
always end up with something that is getting too complex and ends at
some point on my stack of unfinished business.

Thank you, Ive. I must confess that many of my scenes end like yours, while
I always dream of simple scenes. Somehow they get more and more complex imo.
The art of "leaving-out" is not really easy :-)

Here is the latest wip of the hoplite, using POV-Ray 3.7 beta 41, and the
latest Poseray beta.

Skin is multiplied with a (non-corrected) tan color. Interesting to
experiment with rgb and srgb here to see the differences and chosse what is
best.

Thank you Paolo. The upper (re-enforced) tunic is going to take some time to
model, especially to get it right in the Poser Cloth Room. Sandals too are
going to be a brain cracker :-)

Note that the present image is a tiny bit darker in the newsreader, compared
to the original as rendered by POV-Ray.

Using FlyerX's code for fake Fresnel specular (in ng povray.general). The
code is used for the skin, the helmet, the greaves, and the shield. Uqick
and dirty as the specular parameters have not been adapted individually for
each object, but the result shows clearly how it works.
