Wow, Stephen and you have decided to make me blush today :-) I have
been a true BD addict for many years (from childhood to late teenager),
and mainly of the Franco-Belge tradition. So I am really pleased that
you place this picture in this tradition.

You know, normally I'm a sucker for photorealism, but this is superb.
The cell-shaded cars and "3D" landscape work beautifully.
I love it!

<grin> I was sure to sollicite some reaction with that :-)
I am not much familiar with that I must confess, and the boundaries towards
photo realism can indeed become rather blurred, I agree. However, I don't
know. Take for example films like Akira, Ghost in a Shell, or Spirited Away,
turning those into photo realistic works would totally change the concept
and destroy a large part of their magic (while probably creating new magic
of their own)... and it is a question of personal taste of course.

<grin> Well... in my 'old age' I am still very much interested in the
Franco-Belgian BD tradition.

It does remind me of his work but not an imitation. It also reminds me

Manga.

Cool scene... makes me instantly hear Kraftwerk's analogue synthesizers
of 1974 in the background:
We drive, drive, drive on the autobahn,
we drive, drive, drive on the autobahn...
A valley broad before us lies,
the sunbeams sparkle in our eyes
We drive, drive, drive on the autobahn,
we drive, drive, drive on the autobahn...
The blacktop is a tar-grey stream,
white lines and a verdant seam
We drive, drive, drive on the autobahn,
we drive, drive, drive on the autobahn...
We're switching on the radio
to hear this very chorus go:
WE DRIVE ON THE AUTOBAHN!
