getting your good feedback is my pride! You want to know the SENECA's
length: the two large bays are the longest parts of the carrier, and they
range from approximately -200 to +1800. Each unit is a meter, as I am used
for the metric system. That means, that the SENECA is (a little bit more
than) 2 KM long!
The SENECA is a project for a SF computer animation, in fact, there is
already a small clip of 10 seconds. But the ship is not yet completed, I
just like to spice up the temporary previews with a nice environment. More
details are to be added to the SENECA, and I also still have to finish many
of the floors inside that giant ship. The floors do exist, but lack items
and other things.
About the backgrounds: no these backgrounds are made just by graphic program
or photo. But there are ways to make a POV-Ray universe (search for
"stars.inc").
Alright, I hope to hear from you (all) again!

Yes, and I have no problem with Thunderbird, but Roman Reiner did have
problems. I was merely pointing out that attaching images causes fewer
problems than embedding images. There is a difference between these two
methods.

PS. To Roman:
It might be worthwhile for you to consider using a real newsreader
instead of the web interface with a browser. I think Thunderbird is a
good choice, and it's free -- but there are many other good choices as
well. (Of course, Thunderbird is primarily meant for e-mail, but it
does newsgroups very well also.)

There is a significative difference between the HTML post with embeded image and text
with attached
image. HTML: 319 K, text: 324K.
Both shows up correctly here.

star.inc don't like AA! You may need to multiply the color_map values by some large
values. How
large depending on the method used and the recursion level.

Hi Alain,
in some of my previews I used the "stars.inc" file which I like a lot! I
have not encountered the problems with AA as you mention. Those files were
generated with switched on AA.
However, I appreciate your note and hope to get many more informations and
feedback from you.
Greetings,
Sven

Scene:
The mega preview showing the current stage of the imperial carrier
SENECA.
The interior of the two large bays comes soon to its completion, and I
will
continue then to work on the outside details of the bays and the middle
section.
PS: The "Preview 10 (1.0 MB): Imperial Carrier" contains a larger image
of the SENECA (6400x4800 pixels) and the render statistics.

The attached image had to reduced dramatically in its data amount and image
size. On
request, I can e-mail you a high-quality JPEG in the size of 6400x4800
