Almost zazzle-able. Much cooler than I was expecting from the title
alone...

Wery nice image!!!
I waited till I put the finger on what annoys me.
As some of us, asteroid belt is not what I prefer in your image.
There is not enough perspective in it, I think it is because your rocks are
way too big, they show very big even in the remote side of the ring.
Maybe you could try smaller pebbles and get camera closer to the ring. It'd
give a better sense of depth and large dimensions
BTW did you see Cassini's pics of Saturn rings?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.
The rocks bother me too. The main problem is that the distances between
the objects aren't realistic. I'm going to try and scale the rocks according
to the distance from the camera, sere what kind of effect that has. Along
with
smaller rocks and more of them.
I've just finished rendering a 1600*1200 version, so if anyone wants a
copy, mail me.

There was a little thing that bothered me in your excellent scene: the
shadows on the planets and rocks seem not to align really with the (visible)
sun, but with one that is just out of the image, above the upper right-hand
corner. Is that so? Or am I suffering from space sickness?

Drat, you noticed. You are correct, I wanted the suns in the scene and
visible shadows on the
rocks. The rocks are in a light group of their own.
The planets, however are lit by the two suns in the upper right.
I'll move the lights a bit, see what happens.

Gail, I download your image and was using as wallpaper at work. Someone
mentioned he liked it. Which prompted me to tell him you were countrymen.
Him being from SA and remembers you from Rhodes. Ryan Burton sends his
greetings and really likes your work.
Regards
Stephen

Well, we talked about how small the world is, especially in IT. He says Hi
