I'll try it, thanks. But have you tried TS 3?
you can do quick renders in it, painting
of surfaces and textures on models...
Then there is accutrans which will translate
the models to POV or OBJ.

| Use Wings3d, freeware polygon modeller, much better than any modeller I've

I have used Truespace from version 1.0
In fact I really started when it was turbo silver on the amiga. Then it was
Caligari. Then it became Truespace on the PC. It has changed a lot. Version
3 is the best in my opinion. It my not be able to render like povray which
not much does. I have not used wings but I did try and did not like it.
Truespace is fast and can build many high quality models with eazz. To find
out how well Truespace 3 works look at my Gallary. Part of it was done with
Truespace. The rest with povray as a rendering engine and other modeling
programs. All of the aircraft instruments are Truespace 3.1. So take a look
and decide truly what level program Truespace is.

It's OK, I didn't get it because the address has to
be corrected. I wouldn't mind anyway. Now in the
download you can upgrade to TS 3.2 from 3.1.

I missed that one. There where sooo many 3d programs on the amiga. It is a
shame.

I used most of them. I even had Lightwave 1.0

I started useing Povray on the amiga also.

Anyone know why the Amiga system died?
I've seen so much about it on the 'net over
the years, people loved it.

Commodore imploded. They couldn't figure out how to adapt to the market
after the C64. So they bought the Amiga, made PC clones, floundered and
then went bankrupt. There is a group who bought the rights to the name and
patents and are trying to resurrect it. Who knows if they will succeed? I
don't hold out much hope.

They were the opposite of Microsoft: Good technology, but no
business sense.

I got one of the first Amigas to be brought into Toronto, after
being on a waiting list for a couple of months.
When it came out, one of the newspapers interviewed the
president of a consulting firm (I think their name was Encore)
whose purpose was to set up computing environments for
businesses.

His response was (I'm paraphrasing):

"There is no use for colour in business, and multitasking
is just a toy."

That's the reason the Amiga died. People in positions of
authority, with no imagination. At that time, if IBM
didn't do it, it wasn't necessary. Do you remember the
hoopla when the IBM PC finally did colour. It was
heralded as a great advance in computing.
