The water looks great but the mountains need some work!

The water is very nice, but the waterfalls especially seem a bit too blue -
water is rather transparent and the blue color should just a reflection of
the sky.

Are the mountains a height_field? If so, try using a better resolution
image, since there are some "triangle-like artifacts in the steeper parts.

The water looks a bit too blue and too shiny...
Try using fresnel reflection (reflection_type 1 in MegaPOV)
and a lower roughness value for specular reflection. Use
a completely transparent texture and do the coloring with
fade_color or media. I've always gotten good results with
this method.
Also, it's pretty obvious you used an image_map to texture
the height field, there is a very prominent repeating pattern.
However, there is nothing done that wouldn't be easy with
procedural textures...and without the nasty repetitions.

How did you make the waterfalls?

The water looks a bit metalic to me.

Considering the relative size of the waterfalls I think that the size of the
water ripples is too large. Neat looking picture though.

Your water looks good, but may be you put too much brightness, and the
finish is too "nice"... sometimes we have to be carefull with the differe
nt
options of the finish statement. It is often easier to put every paramete
rs of
the finish statement at their "maximum". Here, you have to find a way
to "join" both texturations of water and hills... Also, the hills could
have a
little
bit less height. ( to my opinion!! ) ... The texturation of the hills wo
rks
very well;
it gives a good realism.

Have a good day,

To make the waterfalls I just use Chris Colefax's spray include that I
edited quite a bit. and I added some motion blur to add the realistic look
to it.

I know that the size of the ripples are to but and thats going to be a easy
change for me to do but I am still trying to figure out on how to get the
splash from the waterfall to affect the ground water. thats going to take me
some time to do.
