Hi!

Here's my first (nearly :-) complete render. Though I'm with PoV-Ray
since its beginning -- I even used DKB-Trace -- I never realy got a
scene done. Maybe this time. Comments are welcome and apreciated.

Stats: used radiosity with AA 0.3 (method 2) and quite some MegaPoV
features. It took 9h:26m to render on my AMD-K6 III/400 (128Mb). All
objects are handcoded, except the heads and skulls for decorations,
which are done with SPatch.

Greets,
   Rainer Klaffehn

It looks good, although i would usually expect quite different effects
when radiosity is used. Most shadow parts are quite uniform in
brightness, but it should be much darker for example below the stuff on
the floor and left of the middle guy. Are you sure all objects use finish
{ ambient 0.0 }?

Well, unless there is ambient light by default, there shouldn't be some.
At least, I haven't used ambient lighting in the scene. Maybe the
scattering media is the problem, which seems to brighten the whole
scene. I just didn't manage to balance that effect, though adding some
absorption media has helped a little. I'll play with that later.

   Rainer

Default ambient is 0.1 so you either have to change it in each texture or
use #default.

IIRC it's Power Armour - it runs with you.

From my GW days, it's Terminator Exo-Armour, unless GW have done another
universe reboot and changed everything again...

Oh, and the impression I always got about Terminator suits was that they
could do a fast stomp, but not a full sprint ;)

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

Well, when you recognize the models, they can't be too bad. Thanks! ;-)

And the _could_ run or sprint. I just don't dare to animate them.

  Rainer

Hi!

Setting the overall ambient to 0 changed the scene. At least, everything
is much darker now... Also, judging from the first quick previews (even
those took an hour to render), the shadows are less uniform now. Thanks
for the comment.

Greets,
   Rainer
