I know that POV-Ray is raytracer not modeller but ...
I want share my new tool - macro for MegaPOV and its children. It takes base
object and creates environment for modelling : views, grids, camera, background,
lights, size of image. It could be usefull for many usage: prepare prints for
paint uv-maps, hand-code models, investigate best bounding (with margin 0) etc.

That -is- cool... I have been using some thing similar for bumpand image
maps but nowhere near as neat as this.

Wlodzimierz,

although I don't have an immediate use for it, I like its output.

I broke out povlab and Moray and found my own hand-coded POV scene with three
rotated "objects" of what I'm creating to be a superior (so far) modeller.

You can turn large dimensions and print it after rendering.
Than you take this print as base in normal painting.
You can create your analog image map with many technic
and than scan it and apply back to object as image_map statement.

You can do all this withaout printing in many paint applications by putting base
in one layer and paint in another.

this macro is not to applying uv-mapping but to create base for creating
uv-maps.
If you are looking for tutorial about uv-mapping perhaps you want read
http://www.oyonale.com/ressources/english/tutuv.htm
or just type "mapping" at http://www.povray.org/links/search.phtml
