Can it be that I deleted it?

I don't know much about using newsgroups on outlook express. I did a search
for post on fire once with outlook express' search function and just dragged
the files into one of my own folders. When I looked for the files on the
news server again I couldn't find them(they;re still in my folder).

So when this Spam came up, I did a 'search' for it and dragged it into my
deleted folder. Now it looks like it's gone.

Can it really be this easy to delete other peoples files?

No. The News Server Admin. deleted it.

It is not that easy. Only the original poster or the News Admin. can
cancel messages on this news server. The News Admin. have access to
special server side tools to cancel messages that don't belong here.

Ken . . . while we're here talking about this . . .
I've tried to delete my test messages in newusers by going to Messages
(in IE) and selecting *cancle message* . . . I then get a pop-up that tells
me a request has been sent to admin here. But, the messages are still
there.

Try clicking on "cancel message" instead ;) - seriously, you're probably
looking at your downloaded copy of your post. Deleting the post of the
server doesn't affect anyone who's already d/ld the message.

duh . . . now I get it ;)
I did do the 'cancle message' and get a pop-up telling me that a request
to remove it has been sent to the news group . . . just lost sight of the
fact that I wouldn't lose sight of it in my d/l . . . ;)
