I haven't dropped any images on here before so I thought I might see what
people thought. This was done entirely within the Povray editor, no other
programs involved.

I guess that means there are no image maps involved. Good work! How did
you do the structures on the belt?

Well there ARE some large hieght-field maps. They were created via the
povray editor as well. I had tried strictly using objects (no image maps)
but the render time became impossible for me. The structures are mainly
height_fields.
Actually the background (outside the camera range) was an image map of my
house applied to a sphere to give a realistic background. So yes, there you
are right I was "cheating"

This is great! The leather texture is perfect. I'm a fan of analog timepieces,
sorta, kinda.

I like the reflection (looks like a tree is being reflected) and the leather
wrist band.
for my taste, the glass on the watch should be more visible
nice work .,,,

Welcome!
That belt is very impressive. The watch itself, too. And everything done in
POV itself ... I couldn't do that! But you won't tell me now that this one
is your first serious work with Pov. You just have to have some years of
practice ...
Very nice!
My only criticism (hope it's a constructive one): The date-indicators seems
a bit flat, to me. I remember those watches with a bit more depth. But I
don't know exactly this kind of watch ...

I do get the reference, but you still sound like your screaming crazy.
