I'm writing a new little manuscript, and this will probably be the cover
art.

Nice looking scene. But if the sun is where it is, th elighting would be all
wrong, wouldn't it? In any case, nice work on the textures. and even if the
lighting is wrong for the sun placement, its well lit.

Hmm... Well, the sun is the only lightsource in the scene, so it should be
right.
But I've used a few things that I've never used before:
In the area light: circular and orient key words.
I've also used radiosity (for the first time): "radiosity_outdoorlight" from
the radiosity include file.

Perhaps I've made a mistake in using those things? I have to let the image rest
a few days before I can see it in a normal manner.

It's a manuscript where I describe some of my creations and a few theories
regarding my art. And the art in question is sleight of hand magic.
I've published couple of small manuscripts before, but lately I've gone from
paper to PDF-files. There's info about them at:
http://home5.swipnet.se/~w-52256/warpsmith.html

The manuscript I'm working on now will be about some of my more strange ideas,
the far out stuff.

I've borrowed the birds in the scene from Mick Hazelgrove's "Preacher".
Obviously, I'll need to obtain Mick's permission if I'm going to use this
image. I'm trying to make my own birds, but they turn out to be damn ugly.

There IS something stoned about the textures. You've postprocessed them with
sharpen filters but I think the stones look realistic. What is the texture
made of?

that is a really cool pick with the textured rock brains!
What I think would look better with the text (if you used Photoshop) is
to create a Layer mask on the text layer and just spray out the bottom
of the capital "S" so it's behind the rock. This will give it more depth
in the image.
just a thought.
