Sure, it's not unrealistic but at a certain point, everyone begins to think
a *picture* is too foggy. :o) This one almost reach the limit, but doesn't
cross it, in my opinion.

However, the perceived quality of such a picture depend and rely largely on
monitors, and the surrounding light from the room in which we stand.. When
someone can't see a picture clearly; they will usually give it less credit /
praise.

You were afraid to post this? This is *really* good.

I think it may add some realism if you tilt the boat a little; it looks too
straight for sitting in such turbulent water. Just try tilting it a little
one way or the other. If you want even more realism, you might work on the
water at the edge of the boat, make it look more like it's splashing up
against it, maybe add some little droplets of water in the air near where it
would splash.

How did you model the water? And texture it?

I don't think that this style of boat tilts much, they have a very wide
and shallow keel.

Great comments, Thank you a lot - You really took effort with this one!

I planed to add "the fisherman" trying to find his way back to "the
fisherman's wife", but Your "spooky" reaction speaks against it. Perhaps
I should try to add some subtle hints and continue in that direction
(and avoid modelling of the fisherman =)) ?

There is small amount of water inside the boat, but not a lot. In have
object called water_difference that can be used to remove extra water
inside the boat.

I post the source to p.b.s.

That kind of boat with nobody on board to pump water out should embark a
good amount of water on a rough sea, so the flotability is diminished and
she sits deeper.
