This is the first scene where you can see the layout.

Two male hands, treasuring something very special:
the love of a woman (depicted by a woman with a
glowing heart).

I'm not statisfied with the image yet, this is just
a first try at the composition to have a base for trials
and tests.

Suggestions? Comments? Criticism?

The hands still need a little work; they look too reddish. The image might
also benefit from a faint back light to create some outlines around the
parts of the hands that are black against black.

The woman needs a little work; she looks sort of flat since the primary
light source is inside of her.

I think she's too small.. ;o) Seriously. Besides I'm not sure her feet
touches the hands (?) because there are no shadow.. I know there's not
supposed to be a shadow but anyway.. Besides, I think the hands are too
grey, they don't look alive - or dead. Preferribly make the hand colour more
warm. :o)

Hugo

Thanks you two.

Yes, the woman needs some work. She is actually hovering,
and I have to tweak on her pose a little to make it look
more embryo-style...

As for the womans shading, thats a difficult matter. Right now I was
working with lightgroups, but I don't like that idea, because its not
like the objects should be lit differently. I'll have to experiment some
more with the subsurface-scattering...
Regarding her size, the hands should look like they were cupped around
her, but then gave way to show what he is treasuring. Needs work too.

Hand color: Definitely needs enhancement.

I'll remember these suggestions, after all, this is a WIP and it was
a first shot.

I think it is great. Don't mind that she's hovering.
Kinda looks like a firefly being captured. Maybe you could
give her wings?

I really like this idea. On my screen it looks much better, IMHO, if you
increas the contrast a bit. One suggestion about the hands. The way it looks
now it looks like the hands could be charishing the woman, but it also looks
like they are trying to catch her like an insect:-) Perhaps if you placed
them in a cupping motion under here.

Hm. Not really captured, but that firefly idea is what I
actually had in mind. Like you have caught one and cup it
in your hands, until you show someone...
But I don't think I'll give her wings, that'd make her a
fairy, and its about love...

Hm. I agree. Though some have said, that it looks
like the hands are protecting, the position of the hands'
bases appear to have that catch-type of pose to them.

I'll see how I can "fix" that, but I personally don't
like the idea of two cupping hands underneath her
that much. After all, its still like he's also protecting
her a little and willing to keep her a little for himself...

How touching!

If you don't mind a bit of criticism, how about placing her heart on
the left? :)

Hehe, its not on the left, but right in the middle.

In reality, the heart isn't so far to the left than many
people think, but in the case of this image it would also
ruin the subsurface-scattering of the woman, probably
making her left breast glow, which wouldn't look too
good, because its about the love and warmth that comes
from inside, not her breasts... ;)
