I know, but after fiddling around with media for a few hours
trying to produce result X, I came up with result R that looked
nice enough to say 'looks good enough for now'...

So you have a c4 military drive...big deal! I've got a Large Plasma
Accelerator and 50 shield generators (don't ask how I fit them in a
Cobra III).

Bumper sticker: My other ship's a Thargoid Cruiser.

I always found that a Panther (Also known as Bigtrak :) with two small
plasma accelerators (one in each turret), 50 shield gens, auto repair and
any other toys I fancied made life easier in Frontier. Although I did
occasionally clip myself with the plasma accelerator and knock down all
of my shields and quite a lot of hull as well.

It's amazing what you can afford if you have lots of patience on the Sol
<-> Barnards Star run <grin>

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

My home is propbably Facec (sp?) but I'm quite often found doing runos between
Lave - Ridquat, Diso and Lesti you can always get some serious agro over
that way:-)

My ship's over on the win machine so I don't get to play out much these days,
they sould make a UNIX version.

Elite and no cheating.

I'll go and have a look on the win machine.....

I think I'm a Marquis in the IMP Navy, I can't see now, the icon
I've been using doesn't want to work, I think it might have something
to do with me upgrading the browser to IE5.5 recently. It's complaining
about lack of memory etc.

If you've been reading alt.fan.elite, you'd be aware of the couple of
source-available Elite ports.

First is 'Elite: The New Kind' by Christian Pender - a
reverse-engineering of the Archimedes or BBC Elite, and then there is
something called 'JJFFE', which appears to be a reverse-engineering of
Elite: First Encounters.

But what I'd like is a Unix / Linux port of Frontier: Elite 2.

Didn't know it existed, I'll have to check it out.
