As the name says it is a well.  I am looking for other objects to put it
without destroying the feel. Oh, rendered with povray 3.5 beta1 with
radiosity.

Unless this is a brand new or extremely well cared for ornamental well, why
not put some licken/moss/algae on it.

The bottom bricks are not mortared and yet the water level is above them.
Why doesn't it come out the gaps?  Perhaps lower the water level or block
the gaps.

I don't know exactly the feel you are going for but unless the blocks are
bought from a local builders merchant they should all be slightly different
colours.

By the way, how did you position the bricks - can you send me the source?

I agree, put mortar between the blocks, also, seperate the layers of blocks
and put mortar there as well (no pun intended :))

Also, I like the stone texture, (isos?), but if you look closely, all the
blocks are identical, maybe try randomizing the surface texture between
blocks.

Or at least a 180 degree rotate on one of the axis' (axes?). Also, maybe
an old, broken, bucket laying next to the well would add a little
something to it. Chris Colefax has a great rope generator, I believe.

Good idea.  Although I would think that in a desert very little
moss/lichen/algea would grow.

Have you seen the inca stone work?  The blocks are all strange angles but
after several hundred years they still fit together so tight that you can't
get a razor blade between them.  Although the way I have the blocks set up
it doesn't look that good.  Anybody have a suggestion on how to change that?

Good point.  Texturing is not my strong point.

I am trying for it to look a little desolate.  Adding a rope might destroy
that.
