This is pure POV-Ray model. I created it for my last IRTC
image "The Night Butterflies":

You can get the source at my homepage:

Feel free to use and modify it.

Pretty good. Except i noticed in the view from behind that the mirrors don't
have mirrors.

The shapes are a bit too straight of course, but both texturing and
modelling look good IMO. Just reducing ambient finish on the red parts
would be a good idea, because it looks quite grayish as it is now.

It is grayish because of reflections. White environment adds
to main color. Have a look to my IRTC image. It is not so
grayish there.

About modeling. You know that it's not so trivial task
to create organic shapes in POV-Ray. You have
either to use blobs or bicubic patches. None of them
is so convinient for "manual" modeling. Therefore I
decided to use pure POV-Ray objects. Hence too
straight lines in the shape.
The source is available. You cam improve it and
create more "organic" car :) I published the source
thinking that people will develop different types of
cars based on this model. And we would have park
of pure POV-Ray cars :) Very often you need smth.
like "library" objects. It would be fine to have the
library of pure POV-Ray cars instead of "Chevy" :)

I like this car. Sort of a 1950's styling. Much nicer
looking than the new cars they make these days, which look half
melted. Blegh!

I like this one a lot.. It's the first time I see somebody actually making
it look like a real car within POV and that deserves praise! It has
everything right, although it looks ... yeah you know, not so round... but
it's interesting to see that a car can still look like a car in this way...
:o) Great. I look forward to your next car, if there will be one. I
experiment with bezier patches and I'm sure they can be useful, though never
easy enough to control. :o/
Byeye.
