Well . . . the *please ignore* drew me in ;)
Look very good from here . . . loking forward to seeing
some closer views and details . . . esp of the big door
and arch.

I'm afraid you will have to wait somme time to see the finished
building, as I've had to put the project on hold, in order to make a
model of another, considerably larger, church.

But I can give you a closer look at the doors and arches, as they are
finished (apart from the wood texture on the doors - it still needs some
work).

Fantastic !!!

You know I have to inquire about the brickwork . . .
what techniques are you employing here ? Are you
using the brick texture from POVray, someone's macro
or your own ? I can't imagine each brick being positioned
individually although some must certainly be.
Quite amazing.

Does this represent an actual building ?

Y
inspired to begin building something . . . real or virtual ;)

I do use PovRay's brick pattern, but since it won't do different size
bricks, each layer is modelled as a separate box, and I have two
different size patterns, that I alternate between. If you want more
details, I can post some code.

In the arches each brick is an individual box. The #while loop comes to
good use here.

Oh yes, I am hopeless at making up stuff to model, I need something to
copy from. In fact it happens to be my old parish church, St Mark's on
Frederiksberg in Copenhagen.

I can recommend brick buildings. They are easy to get to look good.

*** alwayz looking to see how folks do things . . . whatever you are
willing to share.

*** I really enjoy stone and brick buildings . . . and this is really
nice.
Thanks for the pics and whatever code you choose to share.

Many years ago (1998), Jeff Lee wrote an interesting include file for making
more realistic brick textures. I attach the file here. I tried to locate the
author, but his site has desappeared, unfortunately.
Maybe you can use this?!
Good building work by the way!!! I am impressed!
