Improved the cockpit interior.
Added some sidewinders.
Changed the camo scheme to blue/grey.
Sky background changed (originating from POVRAY package).
Still a lot of work ahead, as you can see !
Just to keep you up-to-date....
Any comments would be nice !
Thx - Jens

It get's better, even though i liked your other plane model more.
The cockpit looks as if the bottom part is missing...
The texture could maybe become more shiny, how about some more geometric
structures on the body/wings (like rims between different parts)
You should name it "fighting plane chasing lonely cylinder" or what does that
shape in front of the plane mean? ;-)

I assumed it was a wip missile fired by the jet - btw (and this is just a
polite suggestion) it's nice seeing a work slowly come together, but to save
on bandwidth, couldn't you post a smaller image of just the plane, leaving
out the rest of the scene until it's finished?

Ok, but don't forget the other plane was my own design and this
one is a just-for-fun rebuild of an existing one.
Of course I it is nice to hear that you liked my personal design more ! :o)

True, here is still work to do.
Will be a little complicated to achieve a shape similar to the original one.

Cosmetics are for women, not for aircraft.... ;o)
No, you are right.... but this is for later.

Haha, no, this is the pitot probe for stagnation pressure measurement.
It is already there to see which dimensions the plane will finally have
when the nose area is complete.
Thx for comments !

Yes, Tom, guess you are right.
Will leave the background out in further postings until final image.
Thx 4 the hint !

Your Sidewinders look awesome!
I know you know this, but... the fuselage needs a tuck where the wing
reaches maximum thickness. Perhaps the "coke bottle" look will come into
being witht he rest of the plane? The perspective makes the pitot tube
appear to be too far out, but who can judge that? :)
I sat in one of these things (F-5 Freedom Fighter actually) at the Air
Museum near the Seattle Space needle (a long time ago). I believe I had a
better view then your helmet position implies ;)
Dropping the background may be going too far in future updates (reflection
mapping will suffer). Perhaps a tad more compression on your jpeg settings?

the nose of the f5 suddenly disappears.
<knight 1>:"i've lost the nose of my plane!"
<knight 4>:"eject! eject!"
<knight 1>:"i can't! aaaaaaaaa!"
knight 4 can only watch as his friend plummets to a watery death on the
ocean below.

i think the background suggestion posted earlier meant cropping, not
leaving it out altogether. at least, that's what i thought.

Nice progress!
Shouldn't it have blue/gray camo on the bottom (for looking up at it) and
green/brown on the top (for looking down)? The latest planes I think don't
have any, they're just stealth black. (What good is camo on a plane going mach
3 and being looked at by non-visible radiation?) I'm not saying take it off
though, it looks neat. :-)

*snicker* Funny story ! :))))))
But imagine it being a snapshot of the first low-tech stealth-plane
during cloaking process...... ;))
