Not exactly an original concept - I did this some time ago and if my
memory serves me correctly :

1) Wireframe model from 3dcafe
2) Used Rhino to export as POV file
3) Using POV just applied texture and sky

As I say, nothing special but I use this as my Windows wallpaper.

Nice. Is the statue matallic and reflecting the red from
somewhere, or is the red part of the statue texture?

I thought the blood resemblance was intentional.

Wow that can I say...patriotic? I don't know about the metallic texture it
looks a bit too much like the terminator 2 liquid metal if you ask me, hehe.

Thanks, Yes the statue is metallic (bronze or brass or copper, can't
quite recall which). The red is reflected from a Blood_Sky.

no - although I was very impressed with the realism of the wireframe model.

Patriotic ? Yes, but perhaps not in the way you think. I am English and this is
my representation of the Queen Mother on her recent 100th Birthday :-)

I could be a bit controversial by reminding everyone that the Statue of Liberty
itself isn't exactly original (but perhaps I will refrain from that).

Having just seen the X-Men last night, this may now need some remodelling.
