I've starting building a world in pov, an island (just to be very
original)...

This image uses post-process focal blur, tho badly done.

I need ideas for what to put here on this island - maybe objects you ppl
can give me, making it a joined project.

Comments welcome!

First of all, this is just the peak, not the whole thing. secondly, even
here there is nothing but a bunch of stairs leading from nowhere to
nowhere. Imagination, fellas!

If I were going to build an island, and put a tower on it, and intended to
get to the top of the tower on a set of giant winding stairs, I would want a
hand-rail. And maybe some ivy growing up the side, and a telescope on the
top so I could see my enemies coming in their pirate ships. Don't forget
about the Coke machine (and I saw a machine where you could get cotton
candy, that'd be good, too). Down a little lower a booth would sell "I was
at the Tower" T-shirts. From their a path would slope and worm its way into
a furnace room (where the island keeps warm). The furnace would have knobs
with different settings and a door and a chimney and a window. You would get
everywhere by metal wires that you would swing on with handles (like
Batman). There'd be one going from the furnace chimney to the telescope, so
someone could slide down really quick and warn about pirate ships and my
enemies... Make sure to put a net under the end of this one, as falling in
the chimney would get the furnace all stuck up, and jumping off too soon
would make the t-shirt guy mad. Hmmm... I hope that's enough to get started.

Thanks,
D.J.

P.S. - Do POV-People ever go to the bathroom?

If i were to create an island, I would not have any large buildings. I
try to keep all the original vegetation and animals, and not obstruct
the water flow. Very little metal would be used because that would need
refineries of some sort, and those would cause pollution.

I would not have a large tower for protection, but rather a sturdy but
moderate lighthouse. There would be a network of homes in the trees,
connecting to each other by hanging bridges and pulley systems to move
large quantities of stuff.

Think hemp fields. Hemp seed oil for the oil lamps at night, hemp fiber
paper, etc...

A nice hillside amplitheatre and stage for plays, meetings, and jungle
beat musical groove fests. (no t-shirt sellers :) Well, just some
pseudo-random ideas...

save the earth,
ross

Thanks....that's a lot to think about!
I especially like you "I am was at the tower" idea...I love making
sarcastic jokes about western culture ;-)

This is because you see the island as a peaceful place. Not that I
wouldn't like that, but for the pov thing I think I'll do that with some
funny stuff (like the T-shirt idea) and also a lot of useless tech junk,
which is good to fill up any scene.

How about combining the two ideas?
Like with the press of a button the whole island changes from the peacful
place to a big tourist attraction?
Maybe that was more an idea for an animation..
