The USS Aardvark is the prototype for the Aardvark-class scout spacecraft.
It is a lightly-armed two-seat craft with interstellar jump capabilities.
Any suggestions for texturing?

And here all this time I thought an Aardvark was a long toed, four legged
critter with a penchant for ants and termites.

You could make some tile texture for the hull using uv-mapping.

Aawwww... I expected to see a real Aardvark :(

And then a layer of weathered(?) streaking over that. Looks like this is a
atmosphere-capable craft.

Is UV mapping supported for quadric surfaces yet? Every surface of the
spaceship is a quadric of one sort or another.

Wow, now when you say it, it seems quite obvious.
To your question: from the megapov docu:
"Objects that will probably never get surface mapping are: blobs, julia
fractals, cubic, polynomial, quadric, quartic, text, and isosurfaces"
This makes me think of a conversion program for converting these shapes into
mesh/mesh2. Is there anything out there for that ?

Since the main spaceship is a fairly simple symmetric shape, it should be
possible to convert it to a mesh by scanning it using trace() and outputting
the triangles. I know someone was working on a surface scanning macro, but
I don't know what happened with it. Does anyone else know?
