all of the blue (except the main eye block) is one layered texture. i
had no idea how precise one could make textures. thanks go out to the
guy that did the tutorials involving an eyeball, a ball with a star on
it, and one other. to quote martha stewart; pigment maps are "a good
thing". hahaha.

as you can see, the colors aren't exactly right. the head is supposed
to be like a brushed aluminum or something, but i haven't got it right
without ambient yet. and the blue should be an anodized aluminum, but
that's not quite it yet either. help?

Do the brushed aluminum with a normal scaled very small in the y
axis....assuming it is "spun" along that axis.
Maybe the blue would be done better with a layered texture, using filter
for the blue portion(in MegaPOV, of course...I doubt it would look right
in the official version).

That must be Mike Hough.

Using 'metallic' and 'brilliance'? Doesn't seem to be there.
'reflect_metallic' if using MegaPov.
I'm impressed with what you've accomplished so far here on this Star Wars
theme.

Without ambient... You mean you have an ambient of 0? If not: I think it
should be 0. It's too bright.
Shapes seems ok, but textures too plastic-like and too flat.
But for a WIP it's good.

I find that none of my metal textures look right unless I make some sort
of background to be reflected. This is true of even the brushed metals.

Nice R2 head.

I'm glad you found those scene files useful. This is one is pretty classic if
I don't mind saying so myself...
