Hey all,

This one has stalled for lack of ideas (pov-ers block?). It needs
ornamentation and a sense of scale. I have no idea what the round
stairs/platform is used for. I've put a dozen different things on the
circular balcony thingy and none of them have given the scene a sense of
purpose. Should I give up, or keep at it?

You'll be glad to know that I know exactly what that balcony is.
It's one of the places people go when they dream.. the great thing about it
is that you sit on those steps with whatever other members of humanity have
dreamed themselves into that place.. and you look out into that craggy
valley as interesting stuff happens in it.. above you below you, all around
you...monumentous fireballs - battling dragons - floating ice cities...
spirit aliens looking for peace... all this and a fantastic sunset at the
right time of year..

put columns up on the outer ring twice the height of the stairs. you
could also then put an arch across the entrance. then on top of the
stairs could be a column of light that goes off the top of the pic into
infinity. or a glowing ellipse that is a portal to other worlds. or a
giant translucent head (like in star trek 5) could be some kind of
oracle. or several glowing colored balls could be dancing around a
central point. or a sword or other weapon could be somehow stuck there
waiting for the chosen one. or...

How about a little telescope viewer thingy that they have at the parks. You
could put it on the raised area...

Good idea, I thought this looked somewhat like the Badlands of South Dakota
and there was a mound-shaped hill viewpoint that could have used a structure
like this. But I was thinking adding ghostly figures might be interesting
earlier and just wasn't sure that made sense for this at all.

One shouldn't ever give up... But some things can be left to the
imagination... Some need no explanation... I like it the way it is, but, a
flag comes to mind...?
